 Meeting Minutes

The Meeting – was held at Suncrest Gardens, the meeting was run by Marlene Daniels, due to President Glen Pace’s recent surgery he could not attend, and Vice President Becky Hanner was out of town.

Networking – 4:00 pm Sign in, 4:16 Potluck

Business Meeting – 5:05 pm Marlene Daniels gave an update on President Glen Pace’s surgery.  Treasurer Report was given by Marlene Daniels, Paul Laidler made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, Teresa Dillion seconded, the membership voted to accept the treasurer’s report as read.  Due to the June’s meeting minutes not being posted on the blog there was no vote.

Next meeting – December 11th at Mayfield Twp. Hall this is our annual Christmas Party.

Board Meeting – November 13th the board will meet at Whitey’s. Sue Trott asks if the board would discuss going back to having the summer meetings at members home like it was in the past.  Marlene Daniels said she would make sure it is brought to the attention of all board members to discuss.

2026 Meeting Dates – Looking for members to volunteer to have a garden tour in either July or August of 2026. February 12th Potluck and discuss the year’s plans, pay dues. March no meeting Hosta College, April 9th Lynn O’Shaughnessy, “The Evolution of a Gardener, Knowledge Gained Through Experience”, at Mayfield Twp. Hall, May 14th Jean Persely, “Magical Monarchs” at Mayfield Twp. Hall, June 11th Brian Peterson, “World Pollinators” at Mayfield Twp. Hall...  July 09 ??, August 13th ??, September 10th Plant Exchange at Suncrest, November 12th Board Mtg., December 10 Annual Christmas Party at Mayfield Twp. Hall.

Great Lakes Region Hosta Society – We will be joining the society in January 2026.  This will allow members to register for classes early for Hosta College.

Name Badges – Let board member know if you need a name badge and print your name on the sheet.

EMHS 25th Anniversary pins – if you any paid member has not received one, please let a board member know and one will be given to you.

Announcements – Goodrich & Grand Blanc Garden is having a garden art and plant sale on September 20th at 11:30, also Bette Malkiewicz mentioned that there will be a Garden Walk at the home of Jim Slezinski on September 27th, 10am - 6pm and September 28, 11am – 5pm.

Plant Exchange – we had 4 rounds of names being called and last was take what you want. Everyone went home with a lot of beautiful plants.
